GOOGLE PAGE RANK
The Google page rank, aka Google PR or PageRank™ is an indicator displayed in the Google Toolbar, this indicator is a red line and can go from 0 to 10, a page having page rank 10 is considered by Google a very important page, some of the pages that have page rank 10 are Adobe, Yahoo, Google, W3.org (web standards) and others (but not many).

This indicator is a green line and can go from 0 to 10, a page having page rank 10 is considered by Google a very important page, some of the pages that have page rank 10 are Adobe, Yahoo, Google, W3.org (web standards) and others (but not many). When Google calculates the page rank most important factor if the rank of the other pages linking to your site, usually if a page rank 7 site is linking to your site then is most probably that your site will get a page rank 6 or less in about 2-3 months, having more page rank 7 sites linking to your site might get your site to have a rank bigger than 7.

If page rank is important to you and you want to generate backward links to your site then make sure the other sites are about the same topic, otherwise that link might be useful. If you have a site about web development and another site about fishing is linking to you then is most probably that Google doesn’t care about that link. You could have a site with page rank 9 just by having one other site linking to yours, that site linking to you should have a strong rank like 10 or 9 and should be a very important site, I know from what I seen so far that you do not necessarily need many links pointing to you to get a big page rank. After you have some important sites linking to yours, you need to wait a while, it usually takes about 2 months after that link is placed and before your page rank will reflect that change.
